Our Story
We Met at AEPi Cindy and Jason met in 2017 at Jasons fraternity house AEPi; although, their story was not love at first sight. They had numerous cross over close friends that made it impossible to not be included in the same hangouts, bar nights or small gatherings with the brothers at AEPi. They really started to become closer when Kevin Yebri (Jason’s best man) invited both of them to Chipotle to get a quick bite before heading to the Pi house. During this outting Cindy really noticed Jason in a different way then just an acquaintance as he drove away in his sport series Mercedes Benz with cherry red seat belts.
Summer Pals As the summer of 2018 approached Cindy started to notice Jason more, in May they had spent a number of hours chatting in Jasons hot tub during a kickback when his parents were out of town. Staying in the tub until their fingers were pruned and the party dwindled down to just a few stragglers. Cindy would have taken their relationship to the next level that night; but, Jason was infact clueless that she was even remotely interested in that way. Regardless, that over extended hot tub hangout led to a Summer filled with fun!
They both moved into new places near campus for senior year & were basically the only people that were in Northridge for the Summer. Now, this is where the fun really started! Cindy began inviting Jason over to her house to hangout every single day after finishing work at her summer camp. Easy to enjoy someones company when you have so many common interests! As the summer progressed & they spent more time together, they became very close friends – EMPHASIS ON FRIENDS!!! Nothing romantic happened all summer long!
It wasn’t until friends started to trickle back into their college towns that they both started to notice the sparks. One instance helps to pinpoint the transition from just friends to potentially more than friends. Kevin had not seen them for most of the summer and realized the strong connection that had formed between Cindy and Jason. He proceeded to ask the two of them “so… should I be getting used to this? (as in the two of them being very close & possibly in love but not admitting it)” they both turned to each other and responded with, “yes!”
Jason professed his admiration for Cindy the weekend before school started on a sailing trip in Marina Del Rey. Shortly after, Cindy got some cold feet and insisted they take a break from hanging out so much (scared of the commitment and embracing her feelings.) They did not talk for nearly a month until Cindy reached out to Jason and they slowly started to rebuild their friendship. Summer quickly transitioned into fall, and as friends whipspered in each of their ears, their relationship started to flourish into a love connection.
We’re Official! The first weekend they made it official was a road trip up north to San Luis Obispo to enjoy some time together rejoicing in their new relationship and dreaming about their future together. They did all of their favorite things that weekend, enjoying time with friends, eating good food, and listening to live music. A significant trip that marks the beginning of it all, the turning point from friends to… well… more then friends!
The first year as a couple they celebrated many milestones and each month of dating, Jason planned a special date to celebrate. As for life itself: they graduated from college together and moved out of Northridge to start their first fulltime jobs!
We Moved in Together! Flash forward to 2020, during the midst of the pandemic, Jason and Cindy moved into their very first apartment together in Westwood, in which they still call home today.
Since then and over the past four years, they have supported each other and continued to make a lovely home together. They have push each other to become better and make sure to continue to enjoy the simple pleasures of growing with each other. They enjoy listening to new music, experiencing unique concerts and music festivals, practicing hot yoga together, hiking the Santa Monica Mountains, spending time by the sea, embracing their taste buds in new cuisines and restaurants as true foodies, and love spending quality time with friends! With so many common interests, it’s clear that their relationship is one for the books!
We Got Engaged! On November 19th, 2024 they got engaged on the beach in Santa Monica after celebrating their five year anniversary. Jason planned a surprise weekend in celebration of five years together which culminated with him on one knee at a beautifully set up and curated beach picnic in Santa Monica, with their parents near by to watch. After he popped the question, they then celebrated their engagement at dinner overlooking the sunset over the ocean.
We’re Getting Married! Later on that month, they decided their wedding date would be September 21, 2024, and shortly after picked their venue! Now they need your help to continue to write their story!
